Fallen Anzacs Exhibition

Fallen ANZACs of the Northern Territory 1914-1918

Launch 11 November

A tribute to the 68 Territorians who lost their lives during the First World War. Extensively researched by Library staff, this fascinating new online collection of comprehensive information reveals intriguing details about these ANZACs; from their military service to their life in the TFallen ANZACSerritory.

Along with this new online exhibition will be ‘The Somme: From Pozieres to Victory, 1916-1918’ on display 2 November - 4 December.

2009 Northern Territory Literary Awards

The winners in each of the six categories were announced on Friday 9th October at a ceremony at Parliament House. A panel of 15 judges including interstate publishers, international authors, local journalists and academics had the task of determining the most outstanding work of literary merit for each category.  

The Northern Territory Library congratulates all winners and finalists of the 2009 Northern Territory Literary Awards.

Entries for the 2010 awards are now open, and close on the new date of 31 Jan 2010. The awards ceremony for 2010 will be in May, and will be the opening event of the Northern Territory Writers’ Festival, WORDSTORM.  Entry forms will be available on the website and from the Northern Territory Library soon.

2009 Chief Minister's Northern Territory History Book Awards

Winners were announced at a ceremony at Parliament House on Friday 9 October.  

The Chief Ministers NT History Book Award is presented annually to the author of a published book which relates to Northern Territory history. The Northern Territory Library are the custodians of the documentary history of the Northern Territory, and aim to promote excellence in scholarship and research.
